So far the weather has been pretty nice this spring. You can just feel that the summer will be really warm. Why is it so hot??? I think it is global warming. All I know about this school year, is that we have 36 and a half school days left, (I think). Yeah!!!!!

Biography presentations are today. It is really fun to see the wigs and costumes. We will be starting in third grade. There will most likely be 5 groups. We will be going from third grade to second and so on. Hope to see you there.

On March 8th (i think) we will be dressing up as our biographies. We will be providing index cards for the presentation. Parents can come for biography presentations. We will be starting in 3rd grade.

We had a great day on our field trip to the Symphony and I-Max today!  Thank you to all the parents and grandparents that went along, you were great!  All the kids behaved so well, I am really proud of them, they were amazing!  Mrs. Olson

Tomorrow will be our last day doing science before we switch to biographies. When we are all done researching we will get to dress up as our person. We will need to do a lot of research, but it will be fun!

Today in science we are going to get our mysterious powder. We have to test it with water, vinegar, alcohol (rubbing alcohol), oil, PT (phenolphthalein), PR (phenol red), and iodine. It will be hard but we can do it!

Today is groundhogs day. What do you think will happen, six more weeks of winter or springtime (hopefully);-). We are working on averaging in math and it is going pretty well. We are also getting ready for our test in science.

We are now starting four digit long division (longer, not harder). Some people may say it is harder but there are just more steps and numbers.

Just think, at this time last year we had over 1 foot of snow. Will we get any more snow? Maybe our science teacher could sprinkle her mysterious powders all over, and that would pass as snow. We have a test in science on powders some time this week.

Mrs. Olson is back and she is MAD!! Some of the kids were good and some of the kids were HORRIBLE.

Mrs. Olson has been in technology training the last two days and has learned so much in regards to technology.  I have learned how to ichat, wordle and tagxedo, today's meet, creating videos and sharing those in ichat and much more.  I can't wait back to share all my knew knowledge to my students.  I also viewed a great video from Tom Wagner from Harvard on the 7 Survival Skills for students entering the work force.  The knowledge skills have challenged me in a professional way on how do I create a classroom that fosters those survival skills.

Mrs. Olson got chosen to go to two more technology trainings she will be gone tomorrow and Wednesday. We are still working on the same things.

We have been doing pretty good so far this morning. Right now we are working on a math quiz and a reading test. The class is loving Mrs. Olson being back.

Mrs. Olson went to an awesome technology training today.  I learned how to make iMovies, iBooks, create albums in iPhoto and I also learned how to use garage band!  Wow, now I know how my students feel, my brain is on overload.  I missed all my wonderful students today, hope you were all great for the sub!  Tomorrow I will show everyone the movie, the book and the garage band project I created! You will love it!  This will change the ways we do biographies this year, you will all be able to create a book and a movie on the person you research for your biographies!  See you all tomorrow!
